About My Area

Welcome to my home – the suburbs of Westchester County! Considered part of the New York City metropolitan area, Westchester County is also known as ‘The Gateway to the Hudson Valley’. Enjoy the peace and charm of suburban/rural Westchester County neighborhoods while still living within close proximity to the world’s most diverse and busy metropolis - New York!

I help buyers and sellers in neighborhoods and townships in southern Westchester County: Larchmont, Harrison, Mamaroneck, Rye, New Rochelle, Eastchester, Scarsdale, White Plains, Yonkers, Mt. Vernon and include the North Bronx area.

Due to Westchester County’s close proximity to New York City, Westchester acts as a bedroom community for New York, but there are also many industries and economies that reside and operate here as well.

The IT industry has over 900 technology related companies located in Westchester. Biotechnology and Environmental Engineering firms comprise a substantial number of companies as well. Financial Services companies are growing in their numbers as a way to save on overhead costs while still being close to the hub of Wall Street.

The Median Income for a four member family in Westchester County is currently $96,500. We are the second wealthiest county in NY, and the twelfth wealthiest nationally.

There are also many programs and grants available to create more workforce housing and housing for the elderly.

Schools in Westchester County are renowned for their teacher/pupil ratios, kept low throughout the county. The 40 plus schools reflect the diversity that exists here, while maintaining a commitment to excellence. Expenditure per pupil is significant throughout the county.

There are also many private schools to choose from including culturally oriented schools like Keio High School, a Japanese school; and the French-American School and others. Vocational schools are also present here in Westchester County for those wanting to go directly into the workforce.

Many well known private universities and colleges reside in Westchester County: Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, Marymount College in Tarrytown and Pace University in Pleasantville, just to name a few.

The Hudson River Valley is known for its historic estates built over the past 200 years by famous architects and designers for the local aristocracy. Visit great homes like Washington Irving’s Sunnyside, the Rockefeller Estate, Kykuit, or FDR’s Hyde Park Estate.

Enjoy the rural bounty of Westchester County! You can visit farms for 'pick your own' apples or pumpkins in the fall, or cut your own Christmas Tree during the Holidays.

And of course, there are Farmer’s Markets for the freshest produce and products available in Westchester County! Try the Dobb’s Ferry market on Friday’s, Hartsdale’s on Saturdays, or New Rochelle’s market on Friday’s. For a complete list of Farmer’s markets check out www.nyfarmersmarket.com.

Vineyards and wineries and the love of wine have taken root in Westchester County! Check out Prospero Winery in Pleasantville, or visit the MYO Wine School of Winemaking in Elmsford.

 North Bronx and Riverdale –
Just north of the city is North Bronx with a hilly, more urban quality as well as coastal and river areas that are more residential in quality.

Just 22 minutes to central Manhattan by train, you can find luxury and co-op apartments in Riverdale, as well as more affordable single family homes. Riverdale is also home to many architectural and historic gems.
